Who are we and what do we do?

The Human Accuracy Lab (HAL) is founded by Emir Efendić and Philippe van de Calseyde. We are psychology researchers working in the Netherlands on topics related to judgment and decision making.

People frequently make inaccurate judgments. They let irrelevant information sway their choices, give estimates that stray from reality, and struggle to reliably predict the future. At HAL, we study why these errors happen, build tools and interventions that improve the accuracy of human judgment, and explore how we can leverage information and insights from collective decisions.
